2025 Winter Presentation, 10-minute video

“In this presentation, I will outline how my colleague and I effectively manage multi-week projects utilizing student devices and promoting autonomous learning. At Dulwich College Beijing, students are encouraged to bring their devices to every art class. I will guide you through a comprehensive ten-week lino block and sewing project, demonstrating how my students engage with their devices at each stage of the process. Adapting to this level of technology integration in my classroom required significant growth on my part, but I can confidently say that it enhances multi-step projects, facilitates the documentation of student progress for parents, and aids in tracking the development of various classes. Join me to discover how the incorporation of technology has positively transformed my teaching approach.”

2025 Summer Presentation, 10-minute video

“In this video presentation, I will guide you through a creative process where we take stuffed animals and transform them into entirely new, imaginative creations. We’ll explore the techniques of sewing, cutting, rearranging, and re-stuffing, focusing on how deconstruction and reconstruction can breathe new life into familiar objects. Throughout the process, collaboration will be encouraged—whether by sharing ideas, materials, or working together on projects—to inspire creative problem-solving and teamwork. I’ll show you how to photograph finished work, paying close attention to composition, lighting, and angles to capture their unique details. These photos will then serve as visual references for a drawing and painting project, where we’ll further explore form, texture, and design. This activity combines craftsmanship, artistic interpretation, and collaboration, offering a chance to develop both technical skills and creative expression.”
