Whenever possible, I spend time drawing and painting cakes. To me, cake, icing, and all the various patisseries represent the very essence of joy. They are spongy and delicate, dense and rich, sweet and moist. Cakes and cake-like things are a celebration of texture and flavor, an invitation to indulge. Their vibrant colors and intricate designs evoke a sense of creativity, bringing to mind the carefree excitement of childhood birthdays, family gatherings, and celebrations.
